Aviation Crew Staffing Built for Aircraft Operators and Flight Departments

On demand aviation crew staffing

When an aircraft owner, flight department, or charter operator needs contract crew support, speed and trust matter. CrewBlast was built specifically for business aviation operators who need qualified contract pilots and flight attendants, often on short notice, without wasting hours making calls, sending texts, or chasing spreadsheets.

Whether you operate under Part 91 or Part 135, CrewBlast helps solve one of aviation’s most persistent challenges, finding qualified, available crew exactly when you need them.

Through one targeted blast request, operators can source contract crew by aircraft type, location, schedule, and mission profile, often receiving responses in seconds.

Who Uses CrewBlast

The operators in the CrewBlast network span the full range of business aviation: Part 91 corporate flight departments running a single large-cabin jet, Part 135 charter operators managing multi-aircraft fleets, aircraft management companies that oversee owner operations, and fractional operators who need to scale crew capacity with variable owner demand. What they share is a common problem the crew they need is not always available through existing contacts, the traditional agency model is too slow for time-sensitive requests, and the risk of using an unverified contractor is one they cannot afford. CrewBlast solves all three problems simultaneously through network depth, response speed, and the CLEAR biometric verification standard that goes further than any other staffing platform in the market.

How the Crew Sourcing Process Works

The process starts with a Crew Blast request. You specify your aircraft type, departure airport, date, and the type of crew needed. That request goes live across the network immediately, reaching every available and qualified crew member who matches your parameters. Crew members respond through the CrewBlast app. You see their full profile type ratings, recent flight hours, simulator training currency, and verification status and you select the crew member who meets your standards. From request submission to crew confirmation, most operators are done in under ten minutes.

Part 91 Corporate Flight Departments

Corporate flight departments operating under Part 91 typically need contract crew coverage during vacation periods, simulator training windows, and schedule peaks that exceed core crew capacity. The most efficient flight departments build their contract crew bench proactively, during periods of normal operations, so that when the need arises the vetting and relationship are already in place. For flight departments that want to manage their preferred crew list within the platform, the CrewBlast SaaS subscription allows operators to import existing contractor relationships and send targeted availability requests to their approved roster rather than broadcasting to the full network.

Part 135 Charter Operators

Charter operators face a specific challenge that Part 91 operators do not. Under Part 135, contract pilots must be approved under the certificate holder's own training and checking program before they can fly revenue passengers. This means building a reliable Part 135 contract crew network requires advance planning identifying qualified candidates, running them through the training program, scheduling check rides, and maintaining currency records all before the trip demand arises.

CrewBlast supports this process by giving operators access to a broad, pre-verified candidate pool. The identity verification and background check that CrewBlast has already completed reduces the due diligence burden on the operator's chief pilot. The remaining work training program completion and check ride is specific to the operator's certificate but starting with a verified, qualified candidate is a meaningfully better position than starting with a cold contact.
